Dr. Nemcheck’s Furry Friends Mobile Vet

November 23, 2021 | 0

“We are truly passionate about helping keep your pets healthy and making veterinary care convenient by being a mobile clinic.”

That’s what Chrissy Nemcheck, DVM, wrote on her Facebook page last July when she officially launched Dr. Nemcheck’s Furry Friends Mobile Vet in update New York.

Convenience is one of the primary reasons that customers choose a mobile clinic. Taking pets to the vet can be a stressful experience for both pet and owner. From the crate to the car to the lobby to the exam room and back again… it’s a lot to handle for an animal. And when that animal is very large, going to the vet can seem like an insurmountable task.

“How do I become a customer. We have an English mastiff,” wrote one potential customer on Dr. Nemcheck’s Facebook page shortly after her launch. “Been trying to find a mobile vet for him. Since he’s too big to get in and out of my car.”

Before she became mobile, Dr. Nemcheck worked for over 20 years as an associate veterinarian in a brick and mortar practice. Many of her regular patients were at first sad to see her go, but thrilled that they could still experience her care, this time in their own driveways.

“Great idea!” one client wrote about Dr. Nemcheck’s decision to go mobile. “I hope that you can be Ruby’s vet! We love you!”

“We will definitely follow you!!” wrote another client.

As you can see from how her clients talk about her, Dr. Nemcheck’s passion for animal care really shows through.

“I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian for companion animals most of my life,” she writes on her website. “A dream my parents always supported.”

Dr. Nemcheck graduated from The Ohio State University in 1999 with her doctorate of veterinary medicine. After graduation, she and her family moved back to New York where they are originally from.

Dr. Nemcheck says that she really believes in maintaining the appropriate preventative care for pets.

“Preventative care for your cats and dogs has also been my top focus,” she says.

With the convenience of mobile, Dr. Nemcheck hopes that clients are less likely to skip appointments and routine care.

“Preventative medicine can help me help you keep your furry friend healthier longer,” she writes.

The community has been very receptive to Dr. Nemcheck’s mobile practice. She is providing a service that many didn’t even know they needed until now.

“[Our dogs] loved meeting you guys and exploring the mobile unit!” wrote another client on Facebook. “You made them feel so comfortable which then made them not nervous! Thank you again for taking care of our boys and providing a very convenient and needed service in our community.”

I think one user summed it up best when they simply wrote, “What an awesome idea!”

We here at the La Boit family would like to congratulate Dr. Nemcheck on her exciting new adventure into the mobile veterinary space and send our most heartfelt best wishes for a long and successful future.
