LifeShare Blood Centers’ Bloodmobile Wins National Design Award

January 4, 2017 | 0

La Boit Specialty Vehicles’ client LifeShare Blood Centers was recently honored for the design work on their new 2016 La Boit-built bloodmobile. The 42ft Freightliner is the sixth La boit vehicle in their fleet. It includes four donor beds and all the equipment necessary to see dozens of donors per day.

The graphics on the bloodmobile are part of the “Beyond the Donation” campaign, in which both the truck and accompanying billboards featured two individuals who needed blood in a facility serviced by LifeShare Blood Centers. With the addition of a personal message, the campaign became more memorable than a general message about blood donation. Plus, the graphics just look really cool on the side of that shiny new bus.

Established in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1942, LifeShare Blood Centers regularly supply blood components to more than 100 medical facilities and hospitals throughout Louisiana, East Texas and South Arkansas. In addition to the impactful graphics on their bloodmobiles, they are also very active on social media, attend many different community events, and do a great job at getting the word out through their website and the local media.

The award was given by Graphic Design USA (GDUSA), which is an industry website and publication specifically serving graphic design professionals. GDUSA holds several national design competitions throughout the year that culminate in Annuals. LifeShare Blood Centers was selected in the 2016 Annuals competition for the Health + Wellness category.

Danny Earnest, Creative Specialist at LifeShare, was lead designer on the project. He recently mailed us one of the award plaques for our assistance in the design process.

We are truly honored to have LifeShare Blood Centers as a part of our family. Congrats on your award and for including us in your success! You all are amazing!
