2016 Year in Review
December 14, 2016 | 0
34 years young… That’s how many years La Boit Specialty Vehicles has been in business, since owner and founder Gil Blais started working out of his garage building custom vet boxes for mobile veterinarians.
And since then, we’ve shown no signs of slowing down! 2016 was a banner year for us as custom coach builders for the professional sector. Our facility has been booked out for months, and demand continues to be very strong, as businesses and non-profits continue to invest in infrastructure that allows them to bring their services directly to constituents.
In January we wrote about how La Boit Mobile Clinics play a key role in disaster recovery for both animals and people, which was particularly relevant during last winter’s intense El Nino.
Our animal welfare clients continued to lead the way for others to follow, as organizations like North Shore Animal League held nationwide initiatives to encourage shelter adoptions.
In private veterinary practices, we highlighted a client with a unique business model. Mobile Pet Imaging doesn’t directly serve individuals, as most of our veterinarians do, but rather takes their mobile CT scans and fluoroscopies directly to veterinary offices, clinics, hospitals, and zoos for them to use. It goes to show you, that the possibilities really are endless with mobile.
On the bloodmobiles side, New York Blood Center, along with the Community Blood Center of Kansas City, took delivery of three new bloodmobiles, a partnership which stressed the value of working together to achieve common goals.
For medical, we saw new clients add mobile mammography to their service offerings, in which they found that mammography and other diagnostics are well-suited to the mobile environment.
In mobile command, we were featured in Law and Order Magazine, with an article titled “The Latest in Bomb Trucks.” And we couldn’t forget owner Gil Blais’ personal mission to support the professionals in blue, as Gil drove a mobile billboard along the East Coast with a powerful message of solidarity.
No matter what type of vehicle you need, La Boit is here to help from start to finish – from deciding whether to upgrade your vehicle with the winter package or which interior colors to choose for your countertops, flooring, and walls.
Thank you to our clients, partners, suppliers, and staff for all you’ve done to make 2016 a great year for La Boit. Can you believe it’s almost 2017?
